Why team?

Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12

Overpowered: I would say most days I feel overpowered with the demands of work and the gift I have in raising four children and leading and shepherding a beautiful wife who is my best friend. If it wasn’t for her we would have folded our cards a long time ago both in ministry and marriage.

Defend: What is working against us? The scriptures say in John 10:10a Satan only comes to steal and kill and destroy. We have a real enemy that we must defend ourselves against who desires at his core that we fail.

Not quickly broken: We can’t do it on our own. Working in Burundi or anywhere else cross-culturally is very difficult. Growing up my mom would cook pork chops in about 8 minutes in a pressure cooker. Missions is the same in that people are put in the pressure cooker of life with a real enemy and things get tough fast. So how do we overcome it? With a team that is committed to Christ and to one another that understands that what takes more people out of mission than sickness, death, calamity, etc is team relationships.
